Local painter wins top prize at South Central Region and Highlands Fine Arts Exhibition
Painter Nguyen Tuong Vinh from Da Nang has been given the top prize at the 21st South Central Region and Highlands Fine Arts Exhibition for his work ‘Hoi An Xưa’ (Hoi An in the Past).
In addition, ‘Chuyen Cua Bien’ (Story of the Sea) by Than Trong Dung and ‘Tre Viet’ (Vietnamese Bamboo) by Ho Dinh Nam Kha, both from the city, were awarded consolation prizes.
Co-organised by the Viet Nam Fine Arts Association (VFAA) and the Quang Ngai Provincial Literature and Arts Association, the annual exhibition is taking place in the province until 25 August.
It features 282 outstanding paintings and pieces of fine art by 273 artists who are members of VFAA and other Fine Arts Associations across the central region and highlands. Amongst the displayed works are 34 works by 34 artists from Da Nang.
The organisers have presented 8 prizes to outstanding painters - the A, B and C prizes, plus 5 consolation awards.
