On Thursday, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung met with representatives from local relevant agencies to discuss the preparations for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 5th Asian Beach Games (ABG5) which will take place in the city on 24 September and 3 October respectively.  Both ceremonies will be held either at the city’s East Sea Park or the Tien Son Sports Arena, depending on the weather conditions at the time.

The Director of the Viet Nam National Music and Dance Theatre, musician Nguyen Quang Vinh, said “My theatre has already worked with the College of Culture and Arts, the Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theatre, and the University of Sports and Physical Training in Da Nang, to develop detailed musical plans for the ceremonies.  The rehearsals for the music shows at the ABG5 opening and closing ceremonies will take place on 23 September”.

Vice Chairman Dung urged the relevant units to submit the songs, and their accompanying music composed specifically for ABG5, to the local authorities for approval as soon as possible.

In addition, the Viet Nam National Music and Dance Theatre was asked to join efforts with local relevant agencies to appeal for public donations towards the organisation of the 2 international-level ceremonies.

The city leader also stressed the need for the municipal Department of Culture and Sports to make detailed plans for welcoming invited international and domestic guests to the ceremonies.

Importance should be attached to jointly working with the sub-committee for the ABG5 Opening and Closing Ceremonies to finalise the list of guests to be invited to the events, and to ensure appropriate seating areas for them.

Meanwhile, local relevant agencies were asked to ensure the smooth movement of vehicles carrying international and domestic delegates in order to ensure their safety and maintain local security and traffic safety.
