10th Hue Festival slated for April 2018
The 10th Hue Festival, held by Thua Thien-Hue Province, will take place in April 2018, the provincial People’s Committee announced on September 1.

The festival will maintain the previous event’s theme of “Cultural heritage with integration and development,” said the committee, adding that the festival is expected to invite famous art troupes from all over the world.
Reviewing the organisation of the ninth event in May 2016, Nguyen Dung, Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee said that the festival successfully featured unique royal, traditional and spiritual festivals, together with royal music and dances and folk music of Hue.
At the same time, performances of 21 art troupes from 17 countries and territories across the world left strong impressions to visitors, he said.
Thua Thien-Hue also made efforts to call for the engagement of the community in the organisation of the event, said Dung, noting that 30 billion VND was mobilised. Furthermore, artists and organisations voluntarily held and sponsored a number of big music and art shows, including Trinh Cong Son music night and Quang Dien Buddhism festival.
The Festival Hue 2016 drew nearly 1 million spectators, including 250,000 tourists, 28,000 of whom were foreigners.
