Arts ceramic paintings to decorate My Khe Beach embankment
During his meeting on Thursday with representatives from local government departments and agencies, Da Nang People’s Committee Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung approved a project to decorate the embankment along My Khe beach with arts ceramic paintings.
Under the project, the 1,300m-long embankment will be decorated with paintings which reflect local cultural characteristics. Included will be images of fishing villages and boats, beautiful landscapes, and the daily lives of local residents. Each painting will have a minimum length of between 5m and 10m.
The project’s developer is the Urban and Development Magazine, whilst the Song Hoai (Hoai River) Ceramic company is the construction unit. The decoration work is estimated to cost around 11.5 billion VND and will come from public donations. It is scheduled to be completed by 29 March 2017.
The intention is not only to refurbish the sea embankment and create an impressive and beautiful beach, but also to help the city to advertise its image to domestic and foreign visitors.
Vice Chairman Dung urged relevant agencies to make their suggestions to the local authorities to increase the quality of the decoration work. The Department of Culture and Sports will be responsible for managing the construction unit which will maintain and restore the embankment within 3 years.
He added that similar decoration work will be implemented along other local beaches if the project at My Khe beach proves effective.
