The ABG5’s Information and Communications Sub-Board has organised meetings to check the preparations for ABG5, as well as inspected the construction sites of the event’s media centre and main competition venues.
More than 2,000 banners have been displayed on local streets. From 10 September, ABG5’s mascot which features a salangane, a typical bird of the southern central coast area, will be placed at some of the city’s main streets.
Da Nang Radio and Television (DRT) has already made 2 trailers for ABG5 which are being broadcast during peak hours. The municipal Department of Culture and Sports is joining efforts with the Department of Information and Communication to publicise ABG5 through the city’s wifi system.
On 24 September 2015, a digital clock counting down to ABG5 was installed at the roundabout of Ngo Quyen and Pham Van Dong streets. Publications and ABG5’s mascot products have been distributed to local accommodation establishments, and sports and cultural organising units.
ABG5-related information has been sent to Viet Nam’s diplomatic representative offices in foreign countries and the overseas offices in Viet Nam in order to appeal for donations for advertisement work.
After listening to the report, Vice Chairman Dung stressed the need for the Viet Nam Television (VTV), and local media agencies, to make detailed publicity plans to advertise the beautiful images of the city to international friends. The local tourism sector was asked to make great efforts to leave a deep impression on the foreign athletes and visitors.
