Nguyet Bieu, the village, located in Thuy Bieu Ward, launched Friday the biennial event Thanh Tra Fruit Festival boasting its delicacy, ‘thanh tra,’ a variety of pomelo native to Hue City.

The three-day fest, which is in its fifth year, boasts numerous festivities, including a ‘thanh tra’ contest and an art exhibition dedicated to the fruit. Traditional games are also organized to entertain visitors.

One of the fest’s highlights is that visitors can taste a plethora of dishes prepared with ‘thanh tra’ and other specialties from neighboring locales.

Many companies operating in the fruit industry have signed trade contracts with local growers at the festival.
