International media conference for ABG5
On Wednesday, an international media conference for the forthcoming Asian Beach Games (ABG5) took place in Ha Noi.

Present at the event were cultural experts from Asian countries, and representatives from both domestic and international media agencies and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).
Addressing the conference, Mr Vuong Bich Thang, Director of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, remarked “Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, have been making every effort to successfully organise ABG5 in order to leave a good impression on international friends from Asian countries and others worldwide.”
Also at the event, the organisers gave a general overview of the preparations for ABG5, broadcasting copyrights, and the prices of media services, equipment and mobile tents for media agencies. The city’s data integration centre and Local Area Network (LAN) system at the competition venues have already been upgraded. Achievement measurement devices and time-space fully-integrated systems are available at the venues.
The ABG5 opening and closing ceremonies, and matches in 4 kinds of beach sports: football, volleyball, sepak takraw, and handball, will be broadcast live on Viet Nam Television channels.
ABG5 will take place between 24 September and 3 October in Da Nang. A total of 42 sports delegations from 42 countries and territories in Asia will attend.
The contestants will compete for 165 sets of medals in 14 beach sports in a total of 22 different categories, and the competitions will take place at 4 different venues.
The East Sea Park will host football, bodybuilding, basketball 3x3, muay Thai, Vietnamese traditional martial arts, badminton, wrestling, sambo, jujitsu, kurash, vovinam, pencak silat, marathon swimming, water polo, kabaddi and rowing. The volleyball, handball and sepak takraw competitions will be held at My Khe Beach, whilst woodball and petanque will be at the intersection of Pham Van Dong and Vo Nguyen Giap streets, and athletics at the Son Thuy bathing area.
