Numerous attractive tours for ABG5 contestants and invited guests
The forthcoming 5th Asian Beach Games (ABG5) will provide Da Nang with a golden opportunity to advertise attractive tourism products in the central region, and in Viet Nam as whole, to both the participating contestants and the invited guests from 42 foreign countries.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, the city’s tourism sector is offering a wide range of attractive tours and fascinating tourism products to meet the demand.
According to the Travel Management Office of the municipal Department of Tourism, a total of 24 single-day tours to local and regional attractions, and 7 multi-day trips to other localities, are being offered by local travel agencies.
The day tours include: exploring the Marble Mountains Tourist Area, the Museum of Cham Sculpture, and the Son Tra Peninsula; discovering the beauty of the Ba Na Hills Resort; Hue City; and Hoi An, My Son Sanctuary and Cu Lao Cham (Cham Islands) in Quang Nam Province.
Multi-day tours include: a 3-day/2-night tour to Ha Noi, the Trang An Tourism Complex, the Bai Dinh Pagoda and Ha Long Bay; a 4-day/3-night tour of Ha Noi, Sapa, Fansipan, the Trang An Tourism Complex and the Bai Dinh Pagoda; and a 3-day/2-night trip to Phu Quoc Island.
The municipal Department of Tourism has already allowed some local travel agencies to install tour information desks in the hotels of the ABG5 athletes and coaches.
A total of 7 free tours will be offered for international delegates and reporters at ABG5 between 24 September and 3 October. The tours include: visiting the Marble Mountains Tourist Area, the Museum of Cham Sculpture, the Son Tra Peninsula, and the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort; exploring the beauty of My Khe Beach, the Marble Mountains Tourist Area, and the Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park. In the evenings there will be sightseeing boat tours on the Han River and tours of the city by cyclo.
In the afternoon of 23 September, the Tourism Department will meet with reporters from the international mass media to promote the city’s tourism products and images. Then the reporters will be encouraged to experience appropriate tours during their stay in the city.
Mr Hoang Ngoc Thanh, the Deputy Director of the city’s Tourism Promotion Centre, remarked “Printed publications about the city’s tourism are available, and they will soon be distributed to the participating contestants and invited guests. These publications include a Da Nang tourism handbook, leaflets introducing the cultural activities during ABG5, a local tourism map, and the code of conduct applicable to the tourist industry. In addition, another 5,000 postcards showcasing local tourist attractions are being printed and they will be offered as gifts to the participating athletes”.
Deputy Director Thanh added that tourist information desks are being installed at the East Sea Park and the My Khe and Thuy Son bathing areas. He noted that these venues will provide international visitors with necessary information on local tourism, including the attractive tours, food and drinks outlets, beautiful coffee shops, and prestigious spas.
