He also gave his appreciation to the city’s leaders for their deep concern, the local physical education and sports sector for its high sense of responsibility, and the national government’s relevant agencies for their active assistance over recent months.  He believed that the international sports event will be a great success.

Thirty-six viewing stands for around 8,000 spectators, including 16 viewing stands at the city’s East Sea Park, and 28 lighting poles at the 4 competition venues, have now been installed.  Now underway is the installation of support tents for the organisers, athletes, medical workers and Muslim athletes.  The work is being carried out by the VietArt Company and it will be handed over to the Games’ organisers tomorrow.

Mr Tran Duc Phan, Deputy Director of the National Sports Administration and Head of ABG5’s Technical Standing Board, affirmed that his board has recently made 3 inspection visits to the construction sites of the main competition venues.  He noted that all the competition equipment would be transported to the venues and installed for checking by 10 September.  The final installation work will be handed over to the Technical Standing Board on 16 September.

According to a spokesperson for the city’s Public Service Information Centre, the city has launched a hotline (0511) 1022 which can provide ABG5-related information, in both Vietnamese and English, for locals and visitors.  In addition, foreigners can also phone this number to get advice on transport and accommodation services, as well as rescue information if they find themselves in unexpected situations during their stay in the city.
