ABG5 guests and athletes develop special love for city
Over the 10 days of competition at the recently concluded 5th Asian Beach Games (ABG5), around 7,000 invited guests, technical employees, athletes and coaches from 42 countries and territories in Asia became familiar with Da Nang, and felt quite at home in the city. This was all thanks to the city’s stunning landscapes, and the friendliness and hospitability of the local residents.

Amongst them is basketball player Salid Ahmed from Bangladesh. He was very impressed by the peaceful and romantic beauty of the city with its beautiful mountains, river and beaches. He said that he loved the delicious food specialities, and especially the local girls who were very beautiful and gentle.
Mr Nirut Bunmark from Thailand, a representative from ABG5’s main sponsors, emotionally said that he felt at home here as he was always warmly welcomed by the employees and owner of the hotel where he stayed, and the local residents and sports fans.
One of the Thailand team’s special supporters is Khamthong who has visited many countries around the world over the past 20 years in order to cheer on his national team. He congratulated Da Nang on successfully hosting the continent-level international sports event. He also highlighted the beauty of the local beaches and the hospitability of the local people.
Mrs Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul from Thailand expressed her impression on how the local sports fans cheered at the thrilling matches and create a vibrant atmosphere at the competition venues. This proved that the residents of Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, are enthusiastic about and love sports.
During his stay in the seaside city, Mr Sawar Khan Hotak, a special invited guest from the Olympic Council of Afghanistan, admitted that after ABG5 brought him to Da Nang he is leaving with deep impressions about everything in the city, especially the landscapes and people. He affirmed that he would return to visit the city in the near future if he gets the chance.
