During his recent meeting with representatives from Da Nang’s relevant agencies, municipal People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho praised them for their great efforts in ensuring the success of the recent 5^th Asian Beach Games (ABG5).

An exciting contest at ABG5

At the meeting, approval was given by Chairman Tho to honour 21 groups and 27 individuals for their active involvement in organising ABG5.

The city leader remarked, “The success of ABG5 has helped to affirm that Da Nang is capable of organising even more large-scale international-level events in the future.  In particular, public opinion from both home and abroad highlighted the city’s efforts in ensuring the best preparations for ABG5”.

He added, “Hosting ABG5 played a vital role in helping the city to be honoured as ‘Asia’s Leading Festival and Event Destination’ at the recent World Travel Awards (WTAs) Asia & Australasia Gala Ceremony 2016”.

Chairman Tho stressed the need for local relevant agencies to develop more suitable development strategies to make Da Nang one of Viet Nam’s leading localities for hosting international events.
