The Deputy PM asked the provincial authorities to work closely with the ministries of Defence, and Culture, Sport and Tourism, plus relevant agencies to enhance local infrastructure system for its tourism development.  Also, greater efforts should be made to promote local socio-economic development whilst ensuring national defence.

Located 30 km from the mainland, the Con Co island which crosses the 17th parallel, is considered as an ‘outpost watch’ due to its location.

Covering on area of 2.3 km2, the island is one of the most magnificent of its kind in the central region with a diversified ecosystem.

Tourists to the site can visit the traditional house which features various items reflecting the history of Con Co island district’s army and people over the past 55 years, and pay tribute to the Hill 37 Monument.
