DA NANG Today
Published: November 03, 2016

The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2017 logo design contest was recently launched in the city.

The Festival, scheduled to take place between 29 April and 30 June 2017, is being jointly organised by Sun Group and the municipal Department of Culture and Sports.  The FPT Arena company and the Viet Nam Creative Community are the design contest’s main sponsors.

The contest aims to select the best logo, with high aesthetic values, which will then be used to advertise DIFF 2017.  It is open to amateur and professional fine arts artists, sculptors and designers, all of whom must be either Vietnamese citizens or overseas Vietnamese.

According to the contest’s rules, each entry must feature the phrases ‘DIFF 2017’ and ‘Da Nang International Fireworks Festival’ with positive and negative colours in both large and small sizes.  They are not allowed to be similar to any other logos which have been released at home or abroad previously.

The entries must highlight the solidarity and cultural exchanges between the DIFF 2017’s participating countries, as well as Da Nang’s global integration spirit and its progress.

The contest’s organisers have stipulated that all logos must be designed using IT software which features design template vectors.  Contestants are required to send their entries in both PDF and JPG file formats, plus a Word file featuring an under 150-word registration text.   The titles of the 3 digitalised files must feature the names of the entrants and their ID numbers.  All the files should be sent to the contest’s organisers via the email address logo@diff.vn.

The contest’s organisers should receive entries between 5 and 25 November.  The public will be encouraged to vote online for their favourites at the contest’s fanpage between 26 November and 2 December.  The submitted entries will then be assessed by the judging board between 2 and 4 December.

The first prize winner will receive 30 million VND, whilst the second prize is 10 million VND.  These prizes will be determined by the contest’s judging board.  The entry receiving the highest number of public votes will receive a 10 million VND cash prize.  A 17 million VND Graphic Suite Scholarship will go to the winner of a prize for creativity.

In addition, the 50 most outstanding entries chosen to go through to the final round of the contest will all receive 2 Fansipan Legend vouchers, valued at 600,000 VND each.

The awards ceremony is scheduled to be held on 5 December.
