Other Vietnamese athletes at the event were female swimmers Tran Ngoc Thi and Vu Thi Phuong Anh and male teammates Tran Duy Khoi, Lam Quang Nhat and Le Nguyen Paul, who were all unable to bring home a medal at the competition.

The 2016 Asian Swimming Championships, now in its 10th edition, ran from 17 - 20 November at the Tatsumi International Swimming Center in Tokyo.
