Vietnamese writer wins silver at int'l manga contest in Japan
The 27-year-old Vietnamese writer Can Tieu Hy, whose real name is Phan Cao Ha My, won the silver award for her work 'Dia nguc mon' (the Hell’s Gate) at the award ceremony for the 10th Japan International Manga Award which was recently held in Japan, reports Vietnamplus.

Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the organiser said that this year’s contest named 14 winning works. The golden prize went to Joel Parnotte from France for the book 'Master of Arms' while two other silver prizes went to one author from China and one from Italy for their respective works named 'Scavengers' and 'The Heart of Darkness'.
Head of the judging panel, Machiko Satonaka, one of the most popular manga artists in Japan, commented that Can Tieu Hy’s book has depicted a diversified angle about the world and has helped readers understand more about the values of life.
