After a weekend off to allow the national U23 team to prepare for the qualifying rounds of the ASIAN Cup 2019, V League matches resumed at stadiums across the country last weekend.

SHB Da Nang had their 5-match unbeaten run at their new home, the city’s Hoa Xuan Stadium, ended by a 0-1 home loss to Sanna Khanh Hoa on Sunday.

Despite their home advantage and fielding their strongest possible squad, SHB DN missed several scoring chances in the first half which ended 0-0.

In the second half, Sanna Khanh Hoa scored in the 64th minute thanks to midfielder Quoc Chi’s perfect shot into goal, and they hung on to win the match 0-1.  SHB DN had dominated possession throughout the game, but that one goal lost them the potential 3 points which could have moved them into 2nd or 3rd place in the table.

In the other matches, Song Lam Nghe An managed  a 1-1 away draw at Hai Phong, whilst Hoang Anh Gia Lai had a 1-0 home win over Quang Nam.

Becamex Binh Duong defeated Ho Chi Minh City 1-0 at the Binh Duong Stadium, and Sai Gon had an easy 4-0 home win over Long An.

The matches between Can Tho and Ha Noi FC, and FLC Thanh Hoa and Quang Ninh were postponed until 9 June to allow Ha Noi FC and Quang Ninh to prepare for their matches this week in the qualifying rounds of the ASIAN Cup 2019.

Remarkably, with the V League season nearly at the halfway point, only 3 points separate the top 8 teams.  At the top are Ha Noi with 19 points, but FLC Thanh Hoa, Quang Nam and Sanna Khanh Hoa are all also on 19 points.  SHB DN is in 7th place with 16 points.  Can Tho and Long An are still the bottom pair, with 6 and 4 points respectively.

SHB DN will next play Sanna Khanh Hoa on Sunday 9 April at 4.00pm in the Hoa Xuan Stadium, Cam Le District.
