Published: May 21, 2017

At 8.35pm on Saturday, Da Nang's sky was lit up with a specular display by Team Japan.

The performance by Tamaya Kitahara Fireworks Co Ltd from Japan did not disappoint the spectators with their fascinating and passionate fireworks display.

A total of over 4,000 high, medium and low-level fireworks were used by the Japanese team.

Team Japan conveyed a meaningful message that they would like all the audience members at DIFF to enter a beautiful dream filled with spectacular fireworks from Japan.

The team’s performance clearly showed off a perfect harmony between the traditional Japanese cultural values and funky background music featuring world-renowned songs in a bid to produce an amazing show from beginning to end.

The display began with fascinating melodies of the song ‘Star Wars’ which reflects the images of the immense universe, spaceships and planets.

In particular, the audience members were also treated with slow and gentle music  commemorating those  who passed away in devastating earthquakes in Japan in the past.

Afterwards, a part of the performance was performed to a song by Japanese fashion model and singer Kyary Pamyu Pamy who was dubbed as ‘Harajuku Pop Princess’.  The spectators were then thrilled with funky and modern music from popular cartoon ‘ Attack on Titan’.

Finally, the display ended impressively with Japanese ‘Golden Shower’ and a fireworks effect named ‘kamuro’, which is Japanese for ‘boy’s haircut’.  This explosion created a tight cluster of silver or gold stars, with attendant glittery, cloudy trails.

The colourful display of fireworks, in all different shapes, colours and sizes, looked like it was dancing in beautiful melodies.

Here are some photos of the amazing performance by Team Japan
