The event’s organisers said the event will begin hosting Thai Muay tournaments this July untill October with music performances and entertainment events on the beach.
The championship aims to draw competitors from home and abroad in matches to entertain tourists on the pristine beaches of the city.
Johnny Tri Nguyen, a Vietnamese-American actor, stuntman and martial arts choreographer joined the launching of the event on Wednesday.
Last year, the CocoBay complex also hosted the Cocofest which drew 10,000 visitors to the 2-night performance and entertainment activities on the beach.
Cocofest director, musician Nguyen Quoc Trung, said the event will help to diversify the city’s regular festivals, and to create more entertainment opportunities for local residents and visitors.
The project, which covers 31ha with total investment of 622 million USD, is the first and biggest entertainment centre in the city’s tourism master plan to 2030.
