SHB DN win first leg of Cup quarter-final
The first leg matches in the quarter-finals of the National Cup 2017 took place at the Vinh, Can Tho, Thong Nhat and Cam Pha stadiums on Friday afternoon.

SHB Da Nang had an easy 0-3 away win over Quang Ninh at the Cam Pha Stadium.
Quang Ninh fielded their strongest squad which included foreign duo Da Silva and Patiyo Tambwe, and naturalised player Tran Trung Hieu. Meanwhile, SHB DN included their top striker Sebastian Gaston Merlo who has recently become a Vietnamese citizen. He now plays under the Vietnamese name Do Merlo.
SHB DN started the match very well and opened the scoring in the 13th minute thanks to defender Bui Van Long’s perfect shot into goal. Nine minutes later, striker Phan Van Long sent a powerful header directly into the goal to make the score 0-2 to the visitors. Then, in the 28th minute, Do Merlo scored with a powerful header to give SHB DN the 0-3 win.
In the other first leg matches, Song Lam Nghe An defeated Ho Chi Minh City 3-1 at the Vinh City stadium, Can Tho suffered a 1-3 home loss to Quang Nam, and Sai Gon were beat 2-3 at home by Binh Duong.
The second leg of these quarter-finals will take place tomorrow, 20 June, at the Hoa Xuan, Tam Ky, Go Dau and Thong Nhat stadiums.
