U15 international football tournament begins
The 2017 U15 International Football Challenge Cup is taking take place in Da Nang until 18 June. Tickets for all games are free.

Funded by the Thieu Nien Tien Phong Plastic JSC, the tournament is seeing competition among four teams from Viet Nam, Taiwan (China), Myanmar, and Indonesia.
Adressing at the opening ceremony on Wednesday, Le Hoai Anh, General Secretary of the Viet Nam Football Federation and Head of the organising board said that the tournament aims to develop a new generation of players for Viet Nam’s national team.
The tournament is part of Viet Nam’s preparations for the U15 Southeast Asia Football Championship 2017 and the U16 Asia U16 Championship, he added.
The winner of the tournament will be awarded with a trophy, gold medals and 3,000 USD in cash. Second and third place will receive cash worth 1,500 USD and 1,000 USD respectively.
The organising board will also honour the top scorer, best player, best goalkeeper and best referee.
Following the opening ceremony, a match between U15 Viet Nam and U15 Taipei (China) took place with Viet Nam triumphing 5-2.
Viet Nam will meet U15 Indonesia on 16 June.
