The opening of the S.hub indeed gives the library a more modern look, and this helps it secure its position as one of the city’s key cultural institutions and Central Viet Nam’s most modern reading space.
Funded by the Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, the sharing space is fully equipped with advanced equipment, including smart interactive screens, tablets and computers to serve the purpose of learning, researching and sharing innovative ideas amongst young people.

As for online space for discussions, the visitors can register for rooms to organise their group discussions, meetings and other related events through an online portal at www.s-hub.vn. The user can also register for events which are scheduled to be held in S.hub.
Furthermore, the S.hub organies a series of fascinating activities such as forums, seminars, presentations and competitions involved in such themes as creativity, startups and soft skills. These events aim to create a platform for young people to turn knowledge into reality and promote their interpersonal relationships.
In parallel with developing the S.hub, Samsung has also cooperated with the Da Nang General Sciences Library to jointly offer training courses for its staff members so that they can operate this sharing space efficiently and smoothly.
On entering the new facility, Ms Ong Thi Anh Tuyet, the Director of the Library at the city-based Junior College of Food Industry was very impressed with this wonderful space which is very useful for book and research lovers, especially local students.
Ms Tuyet highlighted the importance of widely publicising S.hub amongst students from local universities and colleges in order for these youths to enjoy benefits from this practical venue.
The library is now home to a total of over 27,000 books and documents suitable for people of different age groups. The library has also been gradually promoting applications of information technology (IT) in their operations and reader services. This has helped to enhance the efficiency of researching and looking for documents in the library as well as its general operations.
Thanks to the IT applications and advanced equipment, the library has successfully made the change from a traditional library towards an e-library model. In addition, it is targeting to promote a reading culture amongst local residents.
