Local man wins title at 'Trang Co Dat Viet'
Ton That Nhat Tan from Da Nang has won the 3rd ‘Trang Co Dat Viet, a year-end Chinese chess tournament for the 8 best athletes in Ninh Binh Province.

At the matches held last Sunday, the 41-year-old won 2 games and drew one in the group round.
He then beat Nguyen Anh Man, also from Da Nang, in the semi-finals and finally overcame Tran Quoc Viet from Binh Duong to take the title.
Tan became the 3rd winner of the tournament after Pham Quoc Huong of Ha Noi in 2013 and Trenh A Sang of HCM City in 2015. Tan was the first runner-up in 2015.
Trang Co Dat Viet attracted a total of more than 600 athletes competing in the qualification rounds. They then advanced to the finals of three regions. The regional champions and runners-up and 2 wide-card holders participated in the national finals. Tan was the central region winning master.
