The municipal Department of Culture and Sports said that in the competition, as part of a series of cultural events scheduled for the 2017 – 2018 period, participants can perform either international or Vietnamese songs or music performances, including folk songs and traditional music.
The contest is open to any foreign economic, political or social groups, non-governmental organisations or international businesses that have an office in Da Nang, and to any expats who presently live, work or study in the city.
Participants must have legal residence in Da Nang.
Participants can perform either international or Vietnamese music, including folk or traditional songs of any kind, and are encouraged to dance, do magic, a circus performance or even perform modern arts. They can perform individually or in groups.
“The performances should represent the cultural characteristics of the participants’ home country and nationality but must not contain any offensive content including nudity or violence, or violate Vietnamese laws and regulations,” the organisers noted.
Groups can apply to present more than one performance with a total of duration from 15 - 20 minutes (3 or 4 minutes each performance), while individuals can conduct a single performance of up to 7 minutes.
The contest aims to promote arts and cultural exchanges amongst expat communities and locals in the city in celebration of the New Year.
Registration is open until 14 December, and interested expats can register at the link: http://goo.gl/DYdTCm, or email tttcsklh@danang.gov.vn, and send the registration form to the event’s organisers at 23 Tran Phu in Da Nang.
The group winners will walk away with a cash-prize of 10 million VND, whilst 2 runners-up will take 8 million VND each.
Meanwhile, individuals will see 3 first prizes with 5 million VND each, while 5 second prizes offer 3 million VND each.
