Pop singer My Tam and 3 overseas Vietnamese, Thanh Ha, Elvis Phuong and Dinh Nguyen, will join a live concert at Da Nang’s Trung Vuong Theatre on 19 January to raise funds for underprivileged children with cancer.

The event’s organiser, the Da Nang Sun Flower Foundation, said the performance was part of an annual charity programme that raises money to help poor children with cancer living in Da Nang and Quang Nam Province.

This year’s event is expected to raise 500 million VND (22,000 US$) in total to help 5 children aged between 3 and 13.

The 5 children are being treated at the city’s Cancer Hospital.

According to the Da Nang Association for Supporting Poor and Disadvantaged Women and Children, a total of more than 28.6 million US $ has been donated by foreign and domestic people to help cancer patients to date.
