City's Tet flower street greets visitors

DA NANG Today
Published: February 23, 2018

From 12 - 25 February, the central area of Da Nang is welcoming in the spring with a brightly decorated street with eye-catching flowers.

The flower decorations are divided into 2 areas in the western and eastern ends of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge, along the Han River.

The eastern end has the theme ‘Sunrise on the Sea’, with flowers in the shape of symbols to show the significant development of the city today and in the future.  The ‘Welcome Gate’ is shaped as an island - a mascot in the Year of the Dog - expressing the strong desire of the city in the lunar new year.

Highlighted in this scene is the phrase ‘Xuan Mau Tuat” (The Spring in the Year of the Dog).

The ‘sunrise’ scene at the heart of the eastern end, with its unique solar core design that can be turned by the wind, will surely surprise visitors.  The waves are designed with flowers, along with the image of the Dragon Bridge, creating ‘thousands of sea creatures’, evoking the image of a young city reaching out to the sea.

Nearly 80 kinds of unique plants and flowers have been put up in the ‘Colourful Spring’ road to welcome visitors.  In a small area, ‘Nu Xuan’, birds symbolising peace will fly. In the ‘Desire to Shine’, people will see angel wings glowing in the dark on a carpet of shimmering colours.

In addition to this, many surprises are in store for visitors in the eastern end.  They have been inspired by the image of the entertainment district, Sun World.  The area of Southern theme ‘Fairy Spring – Family Reunion’ is the message of the island coup in the region, with the image of mascot family spring of the year of Dog in the new year, the images familiar with traditional Tet such as firecrackers or lucky coins.  Besides that is the model of bells both day and night thanks to fine arts light.

At the western end is the ‘French Castle’- a scenic image of a French village with an ancient castle.

The tip of the castle tower is illuminated with fireworks at night.  Near the castle tower, flowers and small spikelets form a brilliant sunflower.

Passing through the ‘Spring Road’, visitors are enjoying the ‘Sun Scene’ with sunflower accents in the middle.  Scenic waterfalls simulate 2 Sun Wheel logos and a water slide in the entertainment park, Sun World Halong Complex.
