On Monday evening (30 April), the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2018 will officially begin at 8.00pm with stunning arts performances, and the amazing displays by the Da Nang-Viet Nam and Polish teams will follow.
The DIFF 2018 is expected to be a one-of-a-kind party of fireworks and entertainment arts. |
The performance by Team Poland will be inspired by the image of a special bridge connecting Frankfurt (Oder) in Germany with Slubice in Poland, which has become a symbol of open borders between the two countries.
The display by the Polish contestants will also introduce the memorable history of the two countries to the audience.
The hosts Team Da Nang-Viet Nam are expected to treat pyro-lovers with a dazzling show featuring the allure of such beautiful bridges spanning the romantic Han River showing off their distinctive architectural styles such as Rong (Dragon), Tran Thi Ly and Thuan Phuoc.
The team will create a harmony between enchanting support music, impressive lighting effects, and sparkling colours in a bid to produce spectacular fireworks displays.
Ms Nadia Wong Abdullah, the Director of the Global2000 Company from Malaysia, the consultants for DIFF 2018, remarked this year marks the 10th anniversary of the DIFF brand name, the 8 participating teams, hence, will deliver their most impressive fireworks shows imaginable to the audience with the use of unique fireworks firing techniques and special effects.
Hopefully, the DIFF 2018 is expected to be a one-of-a-kind party of fireworks and entertainment arts.
Entitled ‘Legends of the Bridges’, the 2-month-long festival will feature fireworks performances based on the image of bridges that participating teams bring to the event.
The theme aims to regale spectators with interesting stories of 8 participating teams via the city’s legendary bridges noted for their historical, cultural and architectural significance.
Accordingly, each team that takes part in the DIFF 2018 also symbolises an arch of the bridge of friendship, peace and connection of all the 5 continents heading towards a better future.
The 5 performance nights will be entitled ‘Love’, ‘Time’, ‘Happiness’, ‘Desires’ and ‘Friendship’, respectively.
The teams from France and the US will do the 2nd night on 26 May.
Teams from Italy and Hong Kong will spark the 3rd night performance on 2 June, whilst those from Sweden and Portugal will stage the 4th night performance on 9 June.
The 2 most outstanding teams will compete in the final rounds on the closing night on 30 June.
To make sure spectators will be treated to a breathtaking light spectacle, the 2,000m2 DIFF 2018 main stage, which is bigger and more imposing than last year, features the world’s most advanced lighting technologies.
Spectacular light shows on the stage are expected bring extra excitement to the most-awaited event of the year, and transform the Da Nang skyline into an outdoor audiovisual feast.
The light shows will be followed by vibrant and peculiar arts performances joined by a large number of domestic famous singers and dancers, especially such domestic top stars as Hong Nhung, Tung Duong and Ho Quynh Huong, plus artistes from renowned European arts troupes.
The symmetric arches of the stage show the shape of the Dragon Bridge, and the symbol of the modern and integrated Da Nang, and represent a close connection between the culture and history of the 8 participating teams as well.
The centre of the stage will feature 3 levels, allowing it to highlight the culture and history of the participating countries, and honour the winners in a convenient and impressive manner.
The stage boasts a capacity of about 17,000 seats, and large LED screens to ensure all spectators can enjoy the fireworks displays.
The stage of every single firework display night is to be breathed new life and creativity.
The installation of the DIFF viewing stands on the eastern bank of the Han River, offering a combined total of 21,000 seats is expected to be completed tomorrow, 25 April.
