Mr Yvonnick Thierry Anne Dugast, the French team’s leader, felt very excited as this is the first time that he and his teammates have visited Da Nang for this much-waited international-level competition.

He revealed that the pyro-lovers will realise the connection between France and Viet Nam.

The show will convey the meaningful message of life, and music will take the viewers through a roller coaster of emotions.

The French contestants are expected to thrill pyro-lovers with their splendid display which will highlight the image of a journey of friendship travelling though France, and around other parts of the world.

In his remarks about their ‘opponents’, the US team, Mr Dugast gave high respect and appreciation for these strong contenders who have risen to fame in the global pyrotechnic community.

Meanwhile, Mr Pelkey, the US team’s leader, could not hide his eagerness to compete at DIFF 2018 which he regarded as a good opportunity to promote cultural exchanges, thereby strengthening the relationships between the US and Viet Nam.

When asked about the outline of the upcoming performance, Mr Pelkey just revealed that music will serve as a bridge connecting the past and the present.

“We will utilise classical songs which made their debuts between 40 and 50 years ago, along with modern melodies in a bid to convey messages during the show. At the beginning of the display, hi-tech music will be used, and then combine with romantic tunes, all of which will give the best feelings to the audience”, said Mr Pelkey.

The US team leader also revealed that their upcoming performance is expected to arouse indescribable emotions in the spectators as they will immerse themselves in peaceful moments, and then, there will come the pace builds creating layer upon layer of increasing strength leading to a triumphant climax.

“It doesn’t matter if you are black, yellow, brown or white. We all live on this planet together! Let’s enjoy miracles-of-life”, said Mr Pelkey.

The US contestants will use a total of 600 low and high-level firecrackers belonging to different types.

Mr Huynh Van Hung, the Director of the municipal Department of Culture and Sports , said, with their meticulous preparations, the French and US teams will not disappoint the spectators with their best possible performances which convey the message of peace, friendship and solidarity.

According to the municipal Department of Tourism, a growing number of visitors from both home and broad are expected to arrive in the city for the upcoming 2nd performance night of DIFF.

The volume of bookings by domestic and foreign holiday-makers for tours to Da Nang and other central regional destinations through the TravelMart is likely to climb by between 10% and 15% over this weekend against the same period last year.

The hike in the visitor numbers are partly attributed to the fact that the 2nd night of DIFF 2018 coincides with the summer break during which pupils nationwide enjoy time off school at least two and a half months.
