During the 2015 - 2018 period, the Da Nang Tennis Federation (DTF) has organised many competitions, and provided national-level training courses for referees and coaches in the central region and highlands. In addition, the organisation has been actively involved in helping local departments and agencies in organising their tennis competitions.

Every year, DTF provides training equipment and regular allowances, as well as covers accommodation and travel costs for members of the city’s tennis squad during their participation in national and international-level competitions.

Da Nang is now emerging as a tennis centre in the central region and highlands. Local players Pham Minh Tuan and Phan Thi Thanh Binh are members of the national tennis squad. Also, young players Nguyen Le Minh Hau, Ho Ha Hai Nam and Le Khac Tung Lam have gained remarkable achievements over recent years.

The information was released at yesterday's meeting to review the performance of DTF over the period.

Speaking at the review meeting, municipal People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho remarked that the city’s tennis sector has affirmed its brand name over recent years thanks to the great care and strong support from local leaders and domestic prestigious sponsors. He also highlighted the significance of training more professional tennis players and enhancing sports facilties in a bid to host international-level tennis championships in the future.

Chairman Tho also underlined the important role of DTF in making Da Nang one of the country’s top tennis centres in order to attract more domestic and foreign tennis players to practise and compete here.

To mark this occasion, the Sun Group and DTF signed a cooperation agreement on donations.  Under the agreement, Sun group will donate a total of 70 billion VND to DTF for 7 years.  15 billion VND of which will go to help DTF build international-standard tennis facilities in 2018 and 2019.

Previously, municipal People’s Council Vice Chairman Nguyen Nho Trung and Deputy Director of the Tien Son Sports Arena Nguyen Dinh Hoa had been chosen to be members of the Executive Board of DTF. In detail, Vice Chairman Trung had been appointed DTF’s Chairman, whilst Mr Hoa had been promoted to DTF’s General Secretary.
