2018 Table Tennis Tournament for VTV8 Cup ends
After 3 days of competition, the annual Table Tennis Tournament for the VTV8 Cup officially concluded yesterday in Da Nang.

The 3-day event took place at the city’s Phan Chau Trinh Sports Club, and it saw the partcipation of a total of over 300 professional and amateur players from 50 teams across the country.
In the end, the Hoa Binh team from Ho Chi Minh City were crowned the champions in the team category.
The Long Son Cement team from Hai Duong City finished 2nd, whilst the Dat Ly from Dak Lak Province and the Hoa Chau from Ha Noi shared the third place.
In the A individual category, Nguyen Huu Thai from Hai Duong City won the first prize, whilst Vo Duy Hung from Da Nang was runner-up. Meanwhile, the third place was shared by players To Duc Hoang from Khanh Hoa Province and Ngo Trung Tuyen from Da Nang.
According to the organisers, this year’s tournament saw significant improvements of participating clubs in terms of both quality and quantity. In particular, the event also attracted many professional female players.
Specifically mentioned was thrilling matches between Hoa Binh and Cuong Huy Lien Chieu, Dat Ly v VTV Hue, and Thien Phuc Da Nang v Lao Tuong Nghe An.
Most notably, this year’s sports event saw significant improvements of the city’s table tennis clubs.
In particular, this tournament had 13 local table tennis clubs participating, and also saw a remarkable rise in the number of participating local clubs.
In addition, 2 local clubs competed in the quarter-finals of the tournament in the team category, and 2 outstanding players advanced to the quarter-finals in the A individual category.
