The ‘Da Nang’s Expats Got Talent 2018’ contest will take place at the Trung Vuong Theatre, 84 Hung Vuong, at 8.00pm on 8 and 9 December.

The contest is open to any foreign economic, political or social groups, non-governmental organisations or international businesses that have an office in Da Nang, and to any expats who are living, studying and working in the city and neighboring localities.

On 8 December, contestants will perform either international or Vietnamese music, including folk songs, instrumental performances, dancing, singing, magic, circus performances, theatre, hip-hop and beat-boxing.

Their performances will present the cultural characteristics of their own countries with each getting 7 minutes to perform alone, and group performances ranging from 15 to 20 minutes.

The second night on 9 December will feature the most outstanding performances which will be selected by the jury board, and a splendid awards ceremony.

The group performance winner will walk away with the first prize of 10 million VND (442USD), while the solo winner will get 5 million VND (221 USD).

This is the second time the contest has been held by the municipal Department of Culture and Sports after the first successful event in 2017.

The event aims to promote arts and cultural exchanges amongst expat communities and locals in the city. Also, the event will help local residents to understand more about the cultures around the world, as well as advertise the city’s images to international friends through local expat communities.
