The entire nation was in ecstasy after the football team became champions of the AFF Cup, and people nationwide expressed their great love and respect for the team’s South Korean coach. Painter Vinh was no exception.

He finished the 73cm by 92cm oil painting ‘Nguoi Thay Cua Toi (My Teacher) one week ago, drawing inspiration from the strong will of the team and the tactics of Coach Park.

“I was impressed by an image of Coach Park putting one hand on his chest and singing the national anthem, so I portrayed him against the background of the red national flag of Viet Nam,” said Vinh. “I highlighted his eyes and lips. In a portrait, these details can make the figure soulful.”

“Images of Park have been shared widely on newspapers and social networks,” Vinh said. “I also want to share the painting with other people. It will be auctioned for charity.”

“While painting Coach Park, I wanted to express my gratitude and admiration for his devotion to Vietnamese football.”

Vinh was born in 1986 in the central province of Quang Tri. He graduated from Hue Fine Arts University in 2010. The painting will be on display at Chon’s Auction House, 17 Tran Quoc Toan Street, Ha Noi starting on 23 December.
