70 contestants nationwide compete in Chinese-chess competition on Ban Co Peak
A total of 70 outstanding contestants from 16 chess clubs nationwide yesterday competed in a first-ever Chinese-chess competition held on the Son Tra Peninsula-located Ban Co (Chessboard) Peak at the height of 600 meters above sea level.

The one-day event was jointly held by the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beaches, and the city-based Hoang Anh and Nguoi Yeu Co (Chess Lovers) clubs.
Noticeably, this competition attracted the participation of such famous domestic stars as 4-time national champion Lai Ly Huynh, defending national champion Uong Duong Bac, and international grandmaster Trenh A Sang.

This chess contest was part of a series of events within the framework of the ongoing Da Nang Beach Tourism Season 2019. In particular, the event aimed to further advertise the Chessboard Peak’s image as an inviting event to local residents and tourists from both home and abroad.
