Meaningful messages conveyed through sand sculptures on beach
The Sand Sculpture Contest 2019 entitled ‘Aspiration’ took place at Da Nang’s Pham Van Dong Beach on Friday.

Jointly organised by the city-based Duy Tan University and the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beaches, this year’s event saw the participation of about 300 contestants from 30 teams.
With their ingenuity and rich imagination, the contestants created extremely special and impressive sand sculptures which showcased their aspirations about safeguarding the national sovereignty over its sea and islands, and their special love for sea, nature, and animals.

In the results, 2 second, 2 third and 5 consolation prizes were given out to the most outstanding works.
All participating sculptures will not be removed in order for locals and visitors to enjoy and take souvenir photos.

Hosted by the Duy Tan University since 2016, the annual contest has become a healthy playground for sea lovers. In addition, the event aims to appeal for the community to protect sea and island environment.
In addition to this contest, the Duy Tan University has organised a number of exciting activities as part of the ongoing Da Nang Beach Tourism Season programme, including a tourism photo contest themed ‘Go, See, Do Da Nang’, and beach sports games for their students and visitors.
