Preparations for DIFF 2019 underway
With around 3 weeks to go to the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2019, relevant local agencies have been busy preparing for the forthcoming event.
Starting from 13 May, the former Song Thu (Thu River) Port will be used temporarily for the anchorage and operation of tourist boats. |
According to a spokesperson for the municipal Department of Culture and Sports, the Ho Chi Minh City-based Dong Duong Industry Investment Construction Corporation is responsible for installing 7 viewing stands on Tran Hung Dao Street on the eastern bank of the Han River which will eventually offer 16,462 ticketed seats, a decline of 540 seats against last year.
The construction of the viewing stands is expected to be completed on 26 May.
Starting from 25 May, 10 sound systems will be set up along the both banks of the Han River. Specifically, 4 sound systems will be placed on Tran Hung Dao street, 4 on Bach Dang, and 2 on Nhu Nguyet.
Currently, the installation of DIFF 2019's main stage is underway.
Mr Duong The Bang, Director of the Sun Group in the Central Region, revealed this year's main stage will be more imposing and impressive than last year’s as it will feature modern sound and lighting systems with advanced visual effects, giving special emotions suitable with participating teams’ shows.
According to the Organisers of DIFF 2019, the prices of this year’s tickets see a slight increase compared with the previous year. They are ranging between 300,000 VND and 2,000,000 VND per ticket per person depending on viewing stands and performance nights.
The tickets are now available at the Da Nang Tourist Support Centre at 108 Bach Dang, the municipal Tourism Promotion Centre at 100 Nui Thanh, Sun World Da Nang Wonders’ ticket office at 1 Phan Dang Luu, and some ticket kiosks near the viewing stands during the 5 performance nights.

Mr Huynh Duc Trung, Head of the Travel Management Office under the municipal Department of Tourism, said the operation of the Han River Port will be temporarily suspended from 13 May to 14 July in order to make way for the organisation of the upcoming DIFF.
Starting from 13 May, the former Song Thu (Thu River) Port and a part of the Binh Hien-Binh Thuan commercial and service complex area managed by the 319 Corporation under the Ministry of Defence will be used temporarily for the anchorage and operation of tourist boats.
In addition, the city’s travel agencies will offer more new tours to serve their domestic and international visitors, including DIFF tours.
Mr Nguyen Minh Sang, the Director of the Hai Van Cat International Travel Company, said apart from tours to the city’s popular tourist attractions, the company has been launching new tours to satisfy the increasing demands of tourists. Most notable is a tour to watch sunset on the top of Ba Na Hills between 4.00pm and 9.30pm.
Accordingly, visitors will have a chance to enjoy stunning panoramic views of the city at night and watch fireworks performances from a distance.
