The French Singing Competition 2019 for the central region and highlands officially opened at the Da Nang -based Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theatre at 8.00am on Saturday.

The event aims to strengthen the solidarity, friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and France in the build up to France's National Day (14 July).

The event attracted the participation of over 120 singers of 9 teams from Da Nang, Quang Nam, Dak Lak, Thua Thien Hue, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Ben Tre, Tien Giang, and Dong Thap.

Each team is required to conduct 3 performances which highly praise the friendship between Viet Nam and France, and the beauty of the country, people and culture of France.

The awards ceremony of the competition will take place at the Saigontouranne Hotel, 5 Dong Da, in the evening of the same day.
