Paintings recall Battlefield Memory
Paintings by martyr Ha Xuan Phong are on display at an art exhibition entitled 'Ky uc chien truong' (Battlefield Memory) at the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum, 78 Le Duan. The exhibition is taking place from 19 - 30 July to mark the 72nd anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (27 July).

The exhibition showcases 64 paintings and sketches created by martyr Ha Xuan Phong during the past Anti-American War.
The displayed works provide visitors with a true perspective on the lives of residents and soldiers in the Battlefield Zone V, thereby paying their respect and gratitude to those who laid down their lives for national independence and reunion.

Ha Xuan Phong was born in the Man Thai Fishing Village in Da Nang’s Son Tra District.
He studied painting at the Viet Nam University of Fine Arts, and then the Arts University of Ukraine.
After returning to his homeland from Ukraine in 1968, Phong worked at the Arts Association in the Battlefield Zone V.
The talented painter died on 17 November 1974 as crossing the Tra No River during his working trip to Quang Nam Province Hiep Duc District, leaving hundreds of paintings and sketches.
