Attending at the opening ceremony were Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong and municipal People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh.

In his remarks at the event, Deputy Minister Dong highlighted the significance of the exhibition in demonstrating Viet Nam’s spirit of opening and solidarity during its international integration.

He hoped all visitors to this exhibition would be impressed by displayed fine arts works.

Speaking at the opening event, Vice Chairman Chinh thanked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for facilitating the city to host the international event.

He added the event attracted a total of 25 talented artists from 15 countries, including 6 Vietnamese ones. Between 26 July and 1 August, the artists discovered the beauty of Da Nang and Quang Nam Province’s Hoi An City, as well as explored local culture to create many valuable artworks.

Mr Chinh emphasised the event was the good opportunity to advertise the young and dynamic images of Da Nang to international friends, thereby contributing to promoting its brand name of a liveable city to them.

Co-organised by the Ministry’s Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition and the municipal Department of Culture and Sports, the event is running until 7 August.

The 7-day event is featuring over 50 works in various genres, including painting, sculpture and installation art.

The highlight of the event is an acrylic painting on canvas which is made by all participating artists as a gift for Da Nang. Entitled ‘Da Nang’, the painting is 160cm in length and 240cm in width.
