SHB Da Nang defeated Thanh Hoa 1-0 at the city’s Hoa Xuan Stadium on Saturday.

Both Thanh Hoa and SHB were determined to win the game to improve their positions on the ranking table.

Taking the advantage of playing at home, SHB took control of the game from the beginning. They played actively and made continuous and varied attacks to put pressure on their rivals. In a similar vein, Thanh Hoa players piled on the pressure to try to pull off the win.

Despite of their great efforts, no goal was scored by the hosts and visitors during the first and second halves. The game was thought to have to finish in a goalless draw. However, in the very last minute of second-half stoppage time, second-half substitute Phan Van Long opened the scoring for the hosts in the penalty area after latching on to an accurate pass from captain Anh Tuan. This was the final result of the game.

The other match results were:

Song Lam Nghe An 0-1 Ha Noi

Hoang Anh Gia Lai 5-1 Hai Phong

                                          Quang Ninh 1-1 Quang Nam

Ho Chi Minh 4-1 Sai Gon

Sanna Khanh Hoa 3-0 Nam Dinh

After the first 24 rounds, Ha Noi FC officially become V-league Champions 2019 with 52 points, whilst Ho Chi Minh City finish runner-up on 45 points.

Meanwhile, Quang Ninh are in 3rd place with 35 points, followed by Song Lam Nghe An and SHB Da Nang on 33, Binh Duong, Quang Nam and Saigon FC all on 32, and Viettel and Hai Phong both on 30 points.

Hoang Anh Gia Lai (29 points), Nam Dinh (28 points), Thanh Hoa (25 points) and Sanna Khanh Hoa (24 points) are candidates for relegation battles in the time ahead.
