Late famous artist's paintings and sculptures on display in the city
An exhibition featuring paintings and sculptures created by late painter and sculptor Le Cong Thanh is taking place at the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum from 24 September until 9 October.
Co-organised by the museum in collaboration with the family of Mr Thanh, the event aims to honour the great devotion of the late artist to the city’s fine arts sector.
The ongoing exhibition showcases a total of 45 paintings and sculptures. Specifically mentioned are ‘Nguoi Dan Ba’ and ‘Ve Nu’ stone sculptures, along with oil paintings about Uncle Ho, youthfulness and Quan Ho singing.
The famous Vietnamese painter and sculptor Le Cong Thanh was born in the city’s Hai Chau District in 1932. He passed away in March 2019.
He took part in the To Ngoc Van Resistance Fine Arts Course during the 1955-1957 period. After that, he became a lecturer of the Faculty of Sculpture of the Ha Noi University of Industrial Fine Arts.
In 1983, he was appointed Vice President of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association during the 1983-1989 period.
