The match will take place at Jakarta’s Gelora Bung Karno Stadium on 15 October, and will be Viet Nam’s third game in Group G. It will be aired live from 7.30pm on VTV6.

VTV has reportedly paid 400,000 USD for the match, which is a record in Viet Nam.

Viet Nam are currently in training for their second match against Malaysia on 10 October in Ha Noi.

Earlier, Viet Nam tied goalless with Thailand in a frenetic match in the opener of the World Cup qualifiers’ Group G in Thailand’s Pathum Thani province on 5 September.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup’s second qualifying round for Asia features 40 teams, divided into eight groups of five teams, playing in the home-away format.

The eight group winners and four best runners-up will qualify for the third and final round of World Cup qualifiers.
