On Tuesday, over 300 volunteers in total took part in a marathon at Da Nang’s East Sea Park. They were pupils, students, and employees from municipal departments and agencies, along with members from the city’s Association of Charities and Children's Rights Protection, and the USA’s Orphan Voice organisation.

The event was co-oragnised by the municipal Department of Culture and Sport, the local Association for Charities and Children’s Right Protection and the Orphan Voice organisation.

Themed ‘For the Peace of Children’, the race aimed to raise public awareness of preventing trafficking and sexual abuse against children. This is the second time the event has been held in Da Nang.

The runners participated in a 160km running race in three days (55km a day) from 1 - 3 October from the East Sea Park through Son Tra, Hai Chau, Lien Chieu and Hoa Vang districts.
