Vietnamese gymnast wins second ticket to Tokyo 2020
Renowned gymnast Le Thanh Tung has become the second Vietnamese athlete to qualify for 2020 Summer Olympics (Tokyo 2020), which will be held in Tokyo, Japan from 24 July to 9 August, 2020.

Tung entered the men’s vault final at the 49th International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Artistic Gymnastics World Championship, which is taking place in Stuttgart, Germany on October 4-13, after staging an excellent performance and gaining 14,633 points.
According to the FIG’s regulation, each athlete needs to be in top three of each category so as to qualify for the Olympic Games.
Although Tung ranked fifth in the vault qualification, he got an Olympic berth as among the eight qualified for the finals in the men’s vault, five of them have won tickets to Tokyo 2020 in the team events.
Tung, born in 1995 in Ho Chi Minh City, was the first Vietnamese gymnast bagging the gold medal at the Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships in 2017.
Earlier, talented swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang won the first ticket to the Tokyo 2020 in July.
