Mr Hoa said the team’s doctors had warned over the outbreak of the deadly disease that originated in Wuhan, China last month.
“All players and coaches were warned not to attend mass gatherings or crowded festivals before Tet (Lunar New Year). Both junior and senior teams – who started training after Tet holidays – were told not to receive visitors at the teams’ camp,” Hoa said.
“Any visitor must be closely watched by the medical team or undergo a body temperature check at the team’s training centre. Health checks are reported to the team’s management every training day to eliminate possible cases related to the coronavirus,” he added.
He said face masks must be used by all team members, even kitchen staff and cleaners.
The team director said the team's foreign players did not return to their homelands during the holidays.
The start of the V.League 1 season has been delayed due to the epidemic, with the 21 February kickoff postponed to potentially February 29 or March 7.
SHB Da Nang struggled in 2018-19, finishing the season in 10th place.
They have won the championship three times in 1992, 2009, 2012, as well as two national cups.
