19 year-old female returnee creates sketch diary about 14-day quarantine in the city

A sketch diary with cute drawings created by a 19 year-old female returnee, a resident of the northern mountainous province of Tuyen Quang, telling a story about her life in a 14 day-quarantine in Da Nang, has gone viral on social media amid growing concerns over coronavirus spread.

Hao went into isolation at the Dong Nghe Training Centre in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Khuong Commune from 28 February - 12 March after arriving in Da Nang from South Korea due to public fears over the novel coronavirus outbreak.

The young female returnee named Pham Thi Hao stayed in isolation at the Dong Nghe Training Centre in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Khuong Commune from 28 February - 12 March, and she has been allowed to return home in Tuyen Quang Province after her 14-day quarantine period ended.

Her diary with simple and realistic looking drawings tells stories about her life at the isolation site, and dedicated health workers and military personnel who are on duty around the clock at the site to take good care of returnees from affected countries. 

“Life in 14 day- quarantine in Da Nang gave me a memorable experience. I would like to thank all medical workers and military personnel who are on duty at the quarantine site for their devotion and dedication to their tasks. I look forward to seeing you all again if I have a chance to come back to Da Nang after finishing my study abroad program and returning home. I wish all of you good health and hope that the deadly infectious disease will be contained soon”, Hao wrote in her diary.
