504 billion VND for upgrading of 42 Bach Dang facility into new Museum of Da Nang
The Da Nang government will provide 504 billion VND (over 22 million USD) of funding to upgrade the existing headquarters of the municipal People’s Council at 42 Bach Dang into new Museum of Da Nang.
The new museum covers a total area of 8,686m2, consisting facilities at 42 Bach Dang and 31 Tran Phu. The upgrade project is divided into 2 stages.
The 1st stage of the project will focus on demolishing the 2-storey building, a parking garage, fences, gates and courtyard at 42 Bach Dang.
The 2nd stage of the project will involve dismantling the 3-storey building and a one-storey parking garage, as well as refurbishing the existing works.
The relocation of the existing museum out of the Dien Hai citadel site to 42 Bach Dang aims to give space for restoring and embellishing the citadel. Also, the project will help to provide larger space for the museum in order to satisfy the increasing demand of both locals and visitors for studying, researching and learning about the cultural and historical values of the city, and the central region as a whole.
