Despite competing against top-of-the table HCMC, SHB DN easily took control of the game from the beginning. The visitors' great efforts were paid off as midfielder Phan Van Long opened the scoring in the 44th minute after latching on to an accurate pass from midfielder Thanh Hai.
Seven minutes later, Swedish striker Grace Tanda would have doubled the gap for the visitors if he hadn’t produced a weak shot aimed directly at HCMC’s goalkeeper Thanh Thang.
In the 88th minutes, midfielder Tran Thanh Binh levelled the score at 1-1 with a powerful free kick from outside the penalty area.
In the last minute of the second half, striker Amido Baldé sent a powerful header directly into the goal to raise the score to 2-1.
Then, in the very last minute of second-half stoppage time, striker Grace Tanda scored an equaliser for the visitors. The game finally ended at 2-2.
