Under the ongoing ASEAN Film Week 2020, the ASEAN member countries-produced movies and cartoons are being screened free-of-charge at the Le Do Cinema, 46 Tran Phu, Hai Chau District until 25 July. The screening starts at 7:30 am very day.

Apart from Da Nang, the film week also makes its presence in Vietnamese largest cities namely Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The much-awaited event is part of activities during the Viet Nam ASEAN Chairmanship Year 2020.

The are 8 feature and one animation films, namely Ranggau, Thousand Incarnations of Brunei, Young Love of Cambodia, Aruna Dan Lidahnya of Indonesia, Expiration Date of Laos, Ejen Ali the Movie of Malaysia, Women of the Weeping River of the Philippines, The Wayang Kids of Singapore, App War of Thailand, and The Happiness of a Mother of Viet Nam.

The Happiness of a Mother, directed by Pham Huynh Dong, won the Golden Kite Award 2019 for the Feature Movie category, the annual prestigious film award of the Viet Nam Cinema Association.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong, who is Chairman of the Sub-Committee for Communications and Culture under the ASEAN National Committee 2020, highlighting the ASEAN Film Week 2020 to the promotion of the culture, lifestyle and people of the ASEAN member countries, mutual understanding amongst residents in this sub-region of Asia, and their economic cooperation, especially in the aspects of investment and tourism.
