Over the past decade, Da Nang Table Tennis Team under the management of the Da Nang Athlete Training Centre has received special care and support from the leaders of the city's sports sector.

Over the past 10 years, table tennis players from team Da Nang have been facilitated to practise in private clubs or training centres citywide.

Also, the Da Nang Table Tennis Association has organised annual table tennis tournaments, including the Premiership Table Tennis Tournament and Junior and Cadet Table Tennis Championships, in order to help players in the city improve their table tennis skills and performance.

In addition, table tennis players have always received the best support from their parents who are willing to fund the city’s domestic table tennis competitions and training courses abroad as well.

Da Nang Table Tennis Team now has 14 players and many of them have achieved considerable success in national sports events.

In detail, player Vo Huu Quoc claimed bronze in the men's team category at a tournament in Singapore in 2017. Player Le Minh Khang picked up bronze in the men's team category in the age group of 14-15 at the Youth Table Tennis Championship Southeast Asia 2018.

However, table tennis in Da Nang has still been facing a big challenge as none of table tennis players have won medals at the annual National Table Tennis Championship.

The Table Tennis Team’s coach Dang Xuan Chanh explained that the annual national sports event often attracts the participation of around 500 best players in Viet Nam, including members of Viet Nam's national table tennis squad namely Doan Kien Quoc, Dinh Quang Linh, Nguyen Anh Tu, Doan Ba Tuan Anh, Tran Tuan Quynh, Mai Hoang My Trang, Nguyen Thi Nga, and Nguyen Thi Viet Linh. Therefore, it is understandable that young tennis players in Da Nang have found it very difficult to compete with such strong rivals.

Coach Chanh highlighted the importance of providing the opportunity for table tennis players in Da Nang to compete with their stronger rivals and attend short and long-term training courses abroad to help them improve their skills, hereby gaining even more success at national and international tournaments in the future.
