Between 12 to 14 August, 1,453 Vietnamese and foreign travellers stuck in Da Nang due to the coronavirus outbreak were brought back to Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City on flights operated by Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air. All of them were placed into isolation in designated facilities for 14 days in order to monitor their health under the Health Ministry’s guideline after returning to the two cities from Da Nang.  During their 14-day quarantine period, many of them still spent some of their time writing heartbreaking handwritten thank-you notes to the Da Nang Visitor Support Centre’s staff under the municipal Tourism Department.

Noticeably, the Centre’s staff have been reached their full potential at work in a bid to give active support in a prompt fashion to stranded travellers.

Regardless the high work pressures facing time around the clock, Da Nang's dedicated tourism staff have always showed their enthusiasm in answering any concerning questions from the callers regarding catering services, accommodations, flight registration procedures and other matters facing them.
In her deeply moving note, Mrs Lan Anh, a visitor from Ha Noi, she felt very secure during her stay in the city amid concerns about the spread of Covid-19 because she received active support by the city authorities and the Centre’s staff.

During her family’s stay in the city, she received free essential items, and enjoyed discounts on room rates.  The staff have been active in helping Anh and other stuck travellers book flights back home.  Besides, they were taken to test for the virus and to the city’s International Airport to fly home.

“Although leaving Da Nang for home, there is always a soft spot in my heart for Da Nang which is profoundly rich in humanitarian love.  Surely, I will make Da Nang comeback one day as long as the pandemic is completely brought under control”, Anh affirmed.

In a similar vein, another tourist from Ha Noi, Mr Dang Hung Cuong, said he was so touched by the kindness, great care that his family have received from the Da Nang government and the Centre’s staff during their stay in Da Nang.

“I owe Da Nang a favour.  The city is worth living in my heart.  For the time being, I hope nothing more than the fact that the city will win coronavirus fight soon”, said Cuong.

Cuong added he could not forget the days of getting stuck in Da Nang as the Centre’s staff regularly made phone calls to give him words of great encouragement and enthusiastically instructed him to get through any unexpected troubles encountering him.

Ms Nguyen Loc from Ho Chi Minh City said she couldnot express in any words how grateful he was for great care, love and support he had received from kind-hearted and devoted tourism staff.   She also extended his best wishes for Da Nang and hoped that it would be more resilient and undaunted to eliminate coronavirus.

The Da Nang Visitor Support Centre's staff are on course to give timely support if needed for those still being stranded in the city.  On average, the Centre’s staff receives large numbers of calls for help from visitors every day on the helpline at 02363.550.111, especially even at all odd hours.

Encouragingly, such handwritten thank-you notes full of sentimental words sent by the once-to-be-stuck travellers, indeed, create the best motivation for the center's staff to always do their best to bring as much satisfaction as possible for visitors.  All fatigue seemed to disappear, and they felt very pleased with what they have done to support visitors at this very stressful times.
