Italian cuisine quintessence showcased at Furama Resort Danang

Da Nang people and tourists experienced the best specialties deeply rooted in the Italian culinary culture offered at the Furama Resort Danang on Tuesday afternoon.

Consul General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City Dante Brandi, along with diplomatic guests, chefs, bartenders, hospitality managers across Da Nang made their attendance at this one-day event.

During the event, the visiting diners satisfied their gastronomic passion as enjoying such renowned dishes and drinks of this boot-shaped European country as Sarde in Saor (sweet and sour sardines), Vitello tonnato (veal with tuna-carpe sauce), Gnocchi al gorgonzola e noci (a type of cheese with apricot).

The interesting one-day event in Da Nang was part of the Italian Cuisine Weeks in the World running from 23 to 29 November.

This international scheme is an initiative involving the whole network of 296 diplomatic and consular missions and Italian Cultural Institutes to promote the Italian culinary culture, which is at the core of the Mediterranean diet and so central to the Italian identity and lifestyle. Over a thousand events will be organized around the world during this week, to promote the Italian cuisine and its regional varieties.

In Viet Nam, the rich calendar of related events is stretching from 12 November into 13 December in the major cites of Ha Noi, HCM City, Da Nang and Nha Trang.

In details, there are masterclasses instructed by Italian chefs and sommeliers, along with food and wine tastings and pairings, cultural events and exhibitions, cooking classes, Italian products fair in deli stores, thematic lunches and dinners with Vietnamese celebrities and Italian protagonists.

As in previous editions, this year’s Italian Cuisine Weeks events showcase the best of Italian food and wine culture to Viet Nam, through the excellence of Italian products, which are guaranteed by a verified production chain and protected by an effective geographical indications system.

Last but not least, dozens of Italian restaurants all over Viet Nam are treating their customers with authentic and original Italian specialties and menus, at an affordable price, from 12 to 29 November.

Such above- mentioned events aims to raise public Vietnamese attention on the Italian cuisine and products, their connection with conviviality, hospitality, lifestyle and healthiness, but also on the enrichment driven by exchanges between Italian and Vietnamese culinary traditions.
